  • My Story

Competition, Capitalism, & The Capitol Forum

    Student of Competition

In everything I do, I seek to better understand competition--its laws, its history, its relationship with markets, its impact on Democracy.  I believe that the intense study of competition can yield valuable predictive insight to everyone--from citizens to CEOs.  I apply my fascination with competition to all the positions, titles, roles, and jobs I've picked up along the way--citizen, CEO, editor, writer, student, entrepreneur, investigator, analyst, mentor, speaker, and investor.

    Bio

At The Capitol Forum, as CEO and Executive Editor, I am responsible for overseeing the firm’s editorial coverage and growth initiatives.

Previously, I was a Senior Vice President at MF Global’s Washington Research Group, where I provided education policy and antitrust policy research for institutional investors.  Prior to my experience at MF Global, I helped launch Potomac Research, a boutique policy research firm backed by David Bradley, the founder of the Corporate Executive Board, the Advisory Board, and Atlantic Media Company.  Before Potomac Research, I was an associate in Friedman Billings Ramsey’s Washington policy research group.  I hold a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
